OnCorps’ Response to Federal Funding Pause

Hello friends and colleagues,

I wanted to comment on the recent events regarding President Trump’s federal funding pause and the uncertainty in the wake of the recission of M-25-13.

ASC sent out a statement late last week, which assured us that there are many people advocating for the continuation of AmeriCorps.

I would like to add some comments from OnCorps’ perspective. OnCorps was created by an AmeriCorps Program Director during the administration of George W. Bush – a period when there was similar uncertainty.  At that time, the support from the governors altered the course of the federal government’s attempt to remove AmeriCorps funding. In the end, AmeriCorps actually expanded, but was also subject to increased scrutiny on the impact of programs. This scrutiny included more frequent audits.

One of the primary reasons that OnCorps was created was to give programs the ability to gather the information required to pass these audits. We have had a lot of positive feedback from our users that have been subject to audits. That feedback is especially positive from the organizations that have gone through an audit prior to using OnCorps and again while using OnCorps to support their program(s).

Another reason that OnCorps was created was make software accessible to all AmeriCorps programs. Our pricing remains tied to the grant award size so that every program can afford to have the software they need to manage their day to day activity. We have not increased our prices to maintain pace with inflation in order to ensure that continued accessibility.

While we cannot be certain of the future of AmeriCorps, OnCorps remains positive that we will pass the test again. We will continue to support you throughout this process. We’re assuming that, as we’ve seen in the past, programs will be asked to prove their worth and prove compliance. Each state commission and program will likely be asked to show that they are following the rules, adding value and not wasting money. We at OnCorps are prepared to enhance or create solutions that will assist you with auditing or showing your impact.  We will also continue to base our pricing on the grant award so that you are not overpaying for software.

In my mind, there’s never been a better time to utilize OnCorps software. We will continue to walk beside you to whatever end. Thank you for choosing us.

All best,

Dan Varley and the Team at OnCorps Reports
